KARD announced they would be disbanding after 10 years together. For fans who’ve been here since “Oh NaNa,” (just like me) I found 2 things that we can learn from KARD’s journey.

Mental toughness and bravery to face hard times
As one of K-pop’s rare mixed gender groups, KARD faced various difficulties, such as navigating dating rumors and proving their concept worked. But when asked to sum up their decade together, the members described it simply as “fighting really well.”
Psychologist Angela Duckworth’s research on grit – the combination of passion and perseverance towards long term goals describes exactly what KARD demonstrated. Grit isn’t about being the most talented. It’s about showing up consistently, and developing a growth mindset.

“NOWHERE” as a Beginning
Their final album is called Where To Now? (Part.2): NOWHERE – and their final world tour is called “NOW HERE.” The same letters, just with a space in a different place. Nowhere becomes now here.
This reframe connects to post-traumatic growth theory (Tedeschi & Calhoun) – the idea that significant endings and losses can create space for unexpected growth. The research shows that it’s not the ending itself that determines your future, but how you make meaning from it.
KARD chose to frame their ending not as failure or loss, but as something they came out stronger and better.

What’s your favourite song of KARD?
